Every spring we take a trip to the LA Arboretum. This year's trip was in honor of my mom's birthday. Here we are posing in front of the Fantasy Island house.
Mom and Jim found a shady spot under the beautiful wisteria.
Gary was right at home in the bamboo jungle! This has always been my favorite part of the park.
After running around all day seeing all there was to see, we took a quick break while Mom and Jim shopped for souvenirs. We finished the celebration with a stop at a local coffee house.

Sounds like fun. I can't believe I've never been there. Where exactly is the arboretum?
It's in Arcadia, across the street from the race track.
wow, those are some cool pics! I've never been there, either...shame on me (or shame on Jay for not taking me there)...
It looks like a fun day! That's cool that you get to interact with the planted nature. Then again, Gary has always bben a bit of a rebel, so maybe you can't. I think I will have to see if there is anything like that in Colorado.
This is a great time of year to go. They have peacocks that freely roam the grounds, and it's spring so they're showing their tail feathers all the time.
