Rewards

Here's an interesting note on rewards. When people are greatfull for something they'll typically reward you for it, be it a simple "thank you" or an extravagant trip to the Bahamas. In a little comparison, this week both Erin and I were rewarded with Starbucks gift cards. A welcome treat since we excluded them from our budget two years ago. Erin received her's as a teacher appreciation week gift. But since the budget is tight not everyone gets one, nope. There was a drawing, and she won hers in the second chance drawing. I received mine because I returned someones keys that they forgot. A little ten minute drive out of my way; it wasn't so bad. Erin's reward $5; Joshua's reward $10. It just goes to show you that people appreciate 10 minutes of pampered service over a years worth of training their children.

Disclaimer: I wouldn't seriously think of drawing that conclusion. Really.

I would! I can't believe that crap, Erin. Your school needs some serious help. If they can't afford to give all the teachers starbucks cards, they should give ALL the teachers something they can afford. I'm very glad you at least won one though.

Tara, you have met my husband. He's a good story teller (Big Fish I like to call him.) The raffle was at out monthly staff meeting. We all got business cards printed with our name and some other goodies.

I know I mentioned it to Erin, but I signed up as a brand auditor for a company that is contracted by Starbucks. I not only get my drink reimbursed, but get paid $9 each time. All I have to do is fill out a 15 minute survey on line. I went 8 times this month. That's a lot of tall white chocolate mochas! That was what I had to order, but no biggie! The best part is I went to a lot of grocery store locations and am one purchase away from a free drink. So I am looking forward to my toffee frapuchino!!!
