You snooze, you lose

While out at Costco last week, Joshua and I spotted a glider chair that would be perfect for a nursery. We sat in it, tried rocking, and remembered the price so we could comparison shop. Neither of us had a clue what a glider cost. Yesterday we went to a 10-acre furniture store that we had heard had great prices. The 3 or so gliders they had there were almost 3 times as much as the one we had seen and not nearly as nice looking. So, we enjoyed our free popcorn and hot cocoa, then headed back to Costco. What do you know, they were sold out. So we tried the other Costco. Sold out too. They looked it up for us and found one in Oregon and one in Idaho. Bummer! Trying to make the most of our evening and the van we had borrowed, we went to Target to pick up a stroller we had found last week. Once again, our plans were thwarted as they too were sold out. Needless o say, we learned our lesson. When you see something you need but aren't sure of the price, buy it then and return it later if need be. Anybody know of any good baby furniture stores?

Someone will totally buy you a stroller! People are crazy generous when it comes to babies. We got my glider at Walmart, under $100, not the best one on the market, but I rarely used it with either kid. I totally used my exercise ball though, that was the best thing to bounce my little ones to sleep with.

We bought all our stuff at Babies R Us. Do you have a Babies R Us up there? If not, they're online. We didn't really pay much attention to prices though because I wasn't into getting a bargain back then. (Life changes when you go down to one income.) But I'm not sure if they are expensive or what. But you can also find coupon codes online too.

Baby furniture is the bane of my existence. Anything that we think is nice and tasteful is ridiculously overpriced. Sorry I am no help to you on this one. But it's true, as for the stroller, put it on your registry!

A registry will be great, once we can figure out what we want. Do we really need the whole "travel system" or should we just get a car seat carrier and then a lightweight stroller? Should we fork out the extra bucks for a car seat that will hold up to 30 pounds or will we decide we don't like ours that much anyway and be glad to get a new one after 15 pounds? Decisions decisions ...
