Projects

For those of you who didn't know, I spent much of December on bed rest due to a muscle torn to bits in my leg. Although the first week was a loss because of the meds, I was rather productive for the most part. Doing what you ask? Projects! Using my Happy Hooker crochet book, I taught myself the basics of crochet. I have since made two scarves, three hats, and a poncho. The above hat/poncho set (modeled by my lovely assistants) are a gift for my friend's one year old daughter.
Have no fear knitting friends! I have not given up the yarn art with two sticks. Here is a scarf I made using my husband's idea of creating length by placing a hole at the neck. One side of the scarf gets pulled through the hole without being wrapped all the way around!

So there you have it. Between my Christmas gift of every episode of Friends ever made and my love for all things yarn, I have been quite a busy gal!

Wow! I am so impressed with all of the adorable projects. But what the heck!? No explanation of the torn muscle in the leg? How about a post about that?

Wow, I love love love the hat!!! so cute. Do you find that crocheting is faster than knitting? I still am interested in picking it up, but I'm so much better if I have someone in person show me.

The scarf with the hole I also made one like that. I think there was a pattern in the Stitch N Bitch book, which I tried to follow but ended up just winging it...

What clever friends I have! I only like projects when I have company. I do hope to "catch up" on my scrapbooking before too long. I stopped when Aubrey was about 6 weeks old. I started about 3 weeks before that :)

Jenna,
I do think crocheting is faster than knitting - and easier too! If only we lived closer I could give you a quick lesson. One of these days I will get around to visiting my Colorado friends. :) The Stitch N (I like to leave off the last part of the title) books are where I get most of my patterns. For the scarf with the hole I ended up winging it too - mostly because I was using a different stitch.
