Can you believe that in my almost 10 years of being an adult, this is the first time I have been called for jury duty?! I had to postpone my assignment because they wanted me to go on my 6th day of school. Every teacher will tell you it's not a good idea to be out so early in the year. So, instead, I get a mid-February day away from my class. I'm actually pretty excited and hope I get to be on a jury. Unless it's one of those big deals where you have to stay in a hotel and not talk to anyone for months on end. Hmmm... I'll let you know how it goes.

I've been called for Jury duty three times and every time I've never even made it out of the holding room. Definitely make sure you bring something to read and something to knit or cross stitch. Of course, knowing that you are a teacher, they may call you right away. But it's better to be safe than sorry
Thanks for the tip! Can you bring knitting needles into the courthouse? Maybe if they're plastic.
I didn't have a problem bringing my small (size 6) wooden needles on a plane, so I assume a courthouse would have similar rules. I didn't try metal though.
Tammi brought plastic and it was fine. I also got called the first week of school last year! I posponed until March and was called in for a big child molester-killed the 6 year old victim case. It was going to run until mid-July so I I couldn't do it. Aubrey's due date saved my butt for sure. Luckily they found enough people to find him guilty without me!
